Ruffle me up!
It's been several seasons since ruffles came into style in the fashion world...my closet can attest to that. One of my favorite purchases in the past year has been these gray satin ruffle heels by nina:
Imagine my excitement, then, when I saw this beauty over on Apartment Therapy:
In fact their whole post was about ruffles in the home. Check it out for more visual goodies. I'm in love.

Stomach This!
Brush a little color on them, dab a bit of cartoon cuteness, and wa-la - you can make anything cute. Perhaps I am underestimating the talent of those behind I Heart Guts, which makes even those don't get woozy at the sight of blood will swoon for these adorable little treats.

Javier Alejandre - Industrial Design
There's a certain satisfaction I get from the seeing the perfect marriage of industrial and utility design. Industrial designer Javier Alejandre has created quite a buzz in the creative communities with his newest design ChromoSoma - a mix and match lamp creation. The Madrid-based artist is showing his design at the Salone del Mobile di Milan 2009.

Fabwrapla
My friend Glo and her friend just started a company called Fabwrapla. Their products look so beautiful so I thought I'd share it with you :) Here's a glimpse of their beautiful products and a little blurb:
"In 2000, Jackie and Gloria collaborated and planned a mutual friend’s wedding. After the wedding, many conversations led to the birth of their first business, Lily B. Special Event Planning in 2001. They soon learned that with Jackie’s eye for exquisite designs and Gloria’s brilliant skills in organization made for a dream team. After five years of designing and planning events, they stumbled onto something much bigger and better. Jackie and Gloria found themselves using fabric to cover vases and creating unique and fun décor items for many events. After years of toying with different ways to use fabric, they launched a new division of Lily B.—fabwrap in 2007. Fabwrap became the perfect jigsaw puzzle piece that brought creativity, imagination, beauty, and functionality together in their work. And as they say, the rest is history…"

New Classics
Maybe it's because it's been years and I still don't have any throw pillows on my (free hand-me-down) futon, but these twist on a classic really caught my eye. Designed by Thomas Paul, whose graphic style I just love all around, these linen pillows are a quirky play on the comeback of the cameo. Hearkening back to ancient Greece, they depict the twin gods Apollo and Artemis. Paul plays on cameos again in his Gothic series. Check out his selection of melamine plates, stationery, and totes; popular designs are also available as wall art.

Expanding waste
One thing I hate about trash bins is that there're really no way to hide the fact that you have trash. And that you have so much of it, you need a container for it. Of course, the really cute looking trash cans are generally non-functional: either they don't hold a lot of stuff or they're hard to use. But Scandinavian designer Front has solved all that. His Bin not only looks good, but it also expands to hold more. Genius!

Color Waves

Most people have near white walls, so what to do if you want a splash of color but don't like wall art? Bring in a little excitement with Chroma Lab's deep sea dresser. It'll probably make you want to change your clothes 14 times a day, but that's a small price to pay for something so pretty.

Uber Um
I am painfully in love with these bags by Josh Jakus. To see the fun zip/unzip animation that is just too cute, click on the picture here.

Very mod bags that completely unzip for easy storage and travel.

oooh look, it's a little family!

It's definitely worth checking out the rest of his website for other unique house ware goods! Enjoy!
