felt & feathers

(previously posted here)

of all the world's talent, i think it's fair to say that etsy.com has more than it's fair share of talent. (awkward sentence, oh well). laura of larisa71, for instance, creates the most beautiful bib necklaces and brooches suing mostly felt and feathers. and for incredibly cheap too!

Souvenirs for your ears

Ever go on vacation, only to find only cheesy or edible souvenirs? Sure you could always take photos, but who wants to lug around a camera, prints, or a laptop everytime you want to tell people about your experience?

Enter Fluid Forms, makers of the Streets Clock. Their latest idea -- Streets Earrings.

They've invited interested customers to get in on batch 1, and with 22 days left have already exceeded their goal by $150. Not sure what is next now that batch 1 has been funded, but I'm guessing we can expect a batch 2 in the near future based on the support and excitement it has caused. You can pledge $1 or more, but only donations of $50 or more will get you a pair of the gold-plated earrings.

My birthday is in September. Who cares if my ears don't like gold? I'll take New York City.

"Celtic Art"...or so the description says.

Is it wrong that the first thing I thought of when I saw this was...Chinese Knotting Ripoff?

Really Organic Jewelry

Some people love to wear jewelry, but hate to wear the same pieces every day. This blossom pendant by Rockettoro allows you to change it up whenever you feel like it. It can function as your perfume as well. Even better, it's quite the conversation starter. Three in one!

California Dreamin'

In California, the beachy south and hippy north, aesthetics tend toward the understated, to say the least (Real Housewives of Orange County being the exception). Jeans to work, bikinis to lunch, flip flops to dinner. It's about time the Golden State is represented in precious metal.

LA native Adina Reyter has done just that, capturing the best of California's simply chic style in her eponymous jewelry line. Launched in 2001, Reyter's pieces are popular among celebrities such as Cameron Diaz and Jennifer Aniston. Cast in rose, white and yellow gold and silver, her jewelry exudes the cool laid-back sexiness California women are known for.

After discovering her latest through HauteLook.com, I am in love with the Gold Square Stackable Rings (above) and the One-Diamond Square and Circle rings. As the old saying goes, when in Rome (or California)...
